Web-Based Solutions :: Our Process
The NetMinistry Website Platform redefines the process for building your website. Every step is crucial in creating the very best site possible
for the lowest price possible.
- Account Setup
- Project Worksheet
- Template Design & Production
- Content Authoring & Layout
- Final Touchups
- Website Launch
- Website Promotion
1. Account Setup
When you first sign up for a NetMinistry account, our team begins working on all of the foundational steps of building your website. These
steps include:
- Confirming your contact information
- Sending out a welcome e-mail & instructions
- Setting up DNS, IIS, and mail server entries
- Registering or transfering your domain name
- Sending instructions for accessing the Project Worksheet
- Sending further instructions specific to your project
It is important during this phase that you read every e-mail and respond to every phone call as soon as possible to prevent delays to your
project. This is the phase where your project is scheduled, based on your project details.
2. Project Worksheet
We provide you with a complete worksheet for submitting descriptions and information about what you want us to create for you. The Project
Worksheet is an online tool that allows you to tell us what you want your website to look like, work like, and say. This worksheet is the
central place for our production staff to reference as they build your site.
3. Template Design & Production
Once we receive information about the way you want your website to look and feel, our design team begins working on a rough draft of their
interpretation of your ideas. Our designer provides a design based on your ideas by e-mail and waits for your approval. At this point, you may
either:
- Approve the design for production. The design is perfect.
- Request specific changes on the design. You like the design, but there are some minor changes that you would like made.
- Request a completely new draft. You do not like the design at all.
It is important to note a few things about this process. First, the more information you provide to our team, the closer we will come to getting
your website template perfect the first time around. If you know exactly what you want, this might be easier for you. You can resubmit the design
for changes up to 3 times as part of your setup fee. If you would like to continue submitting changes after your first 3 times, a fee of $50 to $200 will
be assessed, depending on the complexity of your changes. Making sure that you are specific and thorough in your requests will keep the number of requests to
a minimum.
Once you approve your design template, our production department slices up your design into HTML code and publishes it to our system. Your website
design is now online and ready for content.
4. Content Authoring & Layout
Content is the most important part of your website, much more important than its look and feel. You will be required to provide text and photos for
each of your pages for our staff to publish to your website. You can choose to do it all yourself, or hire us to help you lay the content onto your
website professionally. If you hire us to lay out your content for you, we will provide you with a checklist in your Project Worksheet that you will
use to submit all of your content. You must submit all of your content by the date scheduled for your content layout. Once received, our team will
place all of your information on the proper pages per your instructions and deliver a finished website to your organization.
It is important to note the following few points:
- We do not provide content writing services, so you will need to spend time writing the content for your website.
- Website content consists of all the photos and text that you want on your website.
- Your photos should accompany your text, not the other way around.
- Plan on writing at least one full type-written page of text for each page on your website. Then find graphics and photos to accompany your text.
- Our content layout team must receive all of your content before beginning any content layout work.
- It will be necessary to send all of your content at once. Please do not send multiple emails when submitting your content.
5. Final Touchups
After our team has completed your website, you will have the opportunity to review the entire website and verify that it has been done per your
instructions. If you find anything that has been missed, our team will happily assist you with making the final changes in one swoop. If you choose to make
additional changes to your website, we will also be more than happy to help. You will receive a quote for the additional work and it will begin
upon your approval.
6. Website Launch
Your website is ready for prime time. If you are transfering your own domain name, you will do this at this point. Verify that your e-mail is working
correctly and test every form to make sure that information is being properly captured. Once you have done this, your website is ready for launch.
7. Website Promotion
Once your website is live on the internet, you must promote your site to the search engines, your donor and customer lists, and your partner
organizations. Download our comprehensive internet marketing manual and request our search engine submission service, if you choose. At this
point in your project, it is all about getting the word out about your new site and measuring your results.
